Alumni Spotlight: Christie's and creativity - catching up with Kit Pilosof '13

Kit Pilosof '13 wears many creative hats.
The Creative Producer and Director of Video at Christie’s, an Art and Luxury Auction House in New York, recently co-launched Pilosoule, a womenswear brand.
After graduating from Greenwood, Kit attended the University of Miami, studying Print Journalism, Public Relations, and Creative Writing. She completed her Bachelor's degree and moved to New York City, where she started working at a fashion magazine. Kit remembers thinking “this is my dream job” at the time. Trying to find her niche, she went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Fashion, Film & Digital Production at University of the Arts London. Kit then moved back to NYC and worked for a few years before finding her actual dream job at Christie’s.
“I’m happiest when I get to be creative, come up with concepts, and turn them into digital stories to share with others,” Kit said.
She has fond memories from Mr. Hurley’s History class at Greenwood, and says it contributed to her love of storytelling. Kit recalls Mr. Hurley as a “passionate and engaging storyteller.” She admittedly continued to take his classes throughout high school for that reason alone.
Outside of her role at Christie's, Kit’s entrepreneurial journey began two years ago with the conception of Pilosoule, a brand focused on “the urban woman”. Pilosoule launched in December 2024 with the Original Duster -- a modern take on an 1800s English equestrian duster (a long coat typically of linen).
Kit says her journey with Pilosoule has taught her the importance of partnering with people she trusts. Her words of wisdom to those exploring their career path: “Start by getting your foot in the door, it will propel you towards your bigger goals. Then prove that you want to be there.”
We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
