With the right level of challenge and support, every young person can venture further – intellectually, within themselves, in their relationships, in their communities, in nature, in their lives and in the world.
Personalized education is at the heart of the Greenwood experience - and that means that venturing further looks slightly different for every student. One student may take a step out of their comfort zone by auditioning for the Senior Play; another might use a project they’re passionate about to push themselves academically.
How do we help students venture further? By encouraging them to develop the curiosity, perseverance, moral courage and community-mindedness they need to embrace challenges and explore what excites them. Greenwood’s personalized and progressive program, from academics to arts to athletics to outdoor education to service learning, is designed with this goal in mind, and our supportive gender inclusive community allows students to be open-minded, at ease and engaged each day.
We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
