Grandfriends Day is May 9, 2024

There’s a cherished tradition at Greenwood that will soon be upon us: Grandfriends Day!

It’s a day where Greenwood students invite their grandfriends (grandparents or older family members, friends or neighbours) to visit the school for a morning of musical entertainment, a tour of the school, and some time to catch up over light refreshments.

Grandfriends Day has been a part of Greenwood since 2002 when the school opened. After a brief hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, Grandfriends Day returned last year to much enthusiasm from students and their families. More than 260 grandfriends attended.

This year, Greenwood can’t wait to welcome all Grandfriends on Thursday, May 9, 2024. It is a drop-in event between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with musical performances in the gym at 9:30 a.m. Students - please arrange to meet your grandfriend(s) at the Main Doors if you aren't arriving with them.

Call 416-482-9811 x 4236 if you still wish to register.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
