Celebr8ting the Class of 2028

The theatre was buzzing with excitement as Grade 8 students, their parents and guardian, and members of Greenwood staff piled in for our annual Celebr8 event on June 11. This is a momentous occasion for our Class of 2028 as they close the chapter on their middle school days and look forward to the opportunities that await them in high school.

To start the celebration, Sammy Kimelman '28 and Jasmine Chen '28 delivered a thoughtful personalized Land Acknowledgement. Then Ms. Bruce, Evan Edgell '24, the Grade 8 Student Council reps Rainaa Cluett '28 and Anna Dravers '28 and Mr. Costa each spoke to the graduating class. Members of the choir also performed. The event was then capped off with a slideshow that captured moments from the Class of 2028’s Grade 7 and Grade 8 years at Greenwood. Thank you to all those who were able to attend and help us celebr8 our Grade 8s!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
