Jalesh Melwani ('10) to Represent Western/Ivey at International Case Competition

Kate Raven
Jalesh earned a spot at the competition by coming first overall in Ivey's Monitor Deloitte Case Competition, which took place at the end of September. Case competitions ask teams to analyze a business case, and develop and present recommendations for that organization to a panel of judges. For Ivey's competition, the subject was Movember.

Jalesh and his team, along with other teams of 4th-year Ivey students made two presentations to Monitor Deloitte consultants. At the end of the two-day competition, Jalesh's team was declared the winner and advanced to the Citi International Competition.

The Citi competition hosts undergraduates from top-ranked business schools around the world, including the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, Copenhagen Business School, and the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley. When the competition begins, each team will have 24 hours from the time they receive the case to prepare their presentations.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
