Results for Halloweek 2024

From October 28 to November 1, students competed in various competitions for a chance to garner more House points for their Greenwood House. There were at-school competitions as well as activities that could be completed at-home. 
 
The Great Halloween Hunt
Throughout Halloweek, students were challenged to locate hidden pictures at Greenwood for House points. Here were the results by House:
First place: Bison
Second place: Trillium
Third place: Onyx
Fourth place: Timberwolves
Fifth place: Hawks
Sixth place: Redwood
Seventh place: Lynx
Eighth place: Hemlock

Which Witch is Which?
Students had to match which staff member to their childhood Halloween photo as part of “Which Witch is Which?”
Lynx won with 42 points, followed by Onyx with 37 points and Timberwolves with 23 points. 

Movie Poster Remake
Students were challenged to remake a movie poster for House points. 
Here are the results:
First Place: Kobi Cheng ‘25 and Andrew Wilkins ‘25
Second Place: William Gauci ‘30 and Henry Mee ‘30
Third Place: Allegra Mariani ‘25

Costume Contest
Most Creative winners: Audrey Arbib ‘30, Lea Fuerstenberg ‘30 and Jessica Li ‘25
Best Character winners: Luke Cardinal ‘27, Elora Colbert ‘27 and Carson Zujew ‘30
Greenest @ Greenwood winners: Maya Dunn ‘29, Mason Kohler ‘26 and Nicole Stern ‘30

Halloween Bingo
On Wednesday, October 30, Trillium House captains Dev Hollyoak ‘25 and Sophie Wood ‘25 hosted a lunchtime bingo session. Here were the winners from each round of bingo:

  • Char MacKenzie ‘25
  • Blake Gibson ‘30
  • Astrid Kim ‘26
  • Veronica Bigue ‘29

Spooky Short Story Contest
Students were challenged to create an original, human-made short story (50 words or less) for this fun contest. Congratulations to Sophie Lamb ‘25 for being the overall winner! Runner-ups are: Annabel Chouinard ‘25; Mel Edgell ‘25; Lea Fuerstenberg ‘30 and Brandon Mao ‘30; and Alexander Murray ‘27.

Pet Costume Contest
In this at-home challenge, students submitted images of their pet dressed up in costumes for House points. Here are the top three winners:
First place: Becky Opashinov ‘25
Second place: Simona Sera ‘29
Third Place: Cate Pooley ‘29

Spooky House
For this at-home challenge, students submitted images of their home’s Halloween decorations for House points. Here are the top three winners:
In first place: Izzy Purdon ‘29
In second place: Samuel Parsons ‘25
In third place: Olivia Warning ‘25

Trick or Eat Davisville Food Drive
Greenwood collaborated with Trick or Eat Davisville, which collected nonperishable food items for the Daily Food Bank. In this challenge, students gained a House point for each food item donated and two House points for any food items in their House colour. Here are the results from the food drive:
  1. Lynx - 209 House points
  2. Bison - 179 House points
  3. Hemlock - 152 House points
  4. Onyx - 141 House points
  5. Timberwolves - 139 House points
  6. Hawks - 108 House points
  7. Redwood - 85 House points
  8. Trillium - 76 House points
