The excitement in the air was palpable as the entire Greenwood community gathered in the gym to celebrate fall athletics achievements. It’s been three years since Greenwood had a full fall athletics program. With 17 teams active this season, this has been one of the busiest fall seasons for our Grizzlies. Four teams won championships in their respective sports and presented their championship trophies and plaques to Sarah Bruce at the assembly.
Emma Parker ‘23 and Ainsley Parker ‘25 also spoke at the assembly. The two sisters played together on the U15 Girls’ Soccer team back in 2019 and finally had the opportunity to once again play on the same team this term as members of the Senior Girls’ Soccer team. They each spoke about how athletics shaped their drive, teamwork and leadership skills as well as strengthening their sibling bond.
Here are the teams that won the CISAA Championships this term:

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
