U15 Girls’ Soccer Team Wins Division 1 Championships!

For the first time ever, Greenwood has won a Division 1 Girls’ Soccer championship title!

Congratulations to our U15 Girls’ Soccer team for playing their absolute best this season. The girls were undefeated and only conceded two goals total in all of their games.

The semi-final game was a 2-0 win over Branksome Hall, followed by a very tense 2-1 double-overtime win over Country Day School for the championship title. Shoutout to Katelyn Budd for scoring all four goals in these two games!

The girls battled injuries and absolutely freezing temperatures but came through with huge energy and heart.

What an incredible team! Greenwood is extremely proud of you all!

Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff. I had the pleasure to witness the finals and it was some of the best display of hard work from a team that i have ever witnessed. With other schools with paid coaches and bigger enrollments the Grizzlies were the David of the game. With a second half golden goal overtime win it was simply a fantastic moment for the girls and a bond that will last a life time.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
